Question ASUS A320M-A

Is there some site with good hardware info for mb's? I have an ASUS A320M-A mb that I installed several different distros to, but not one installation is without kernel errors at boot.

I am fairly new to linux, so after searching I immediately understood that most installations require some configuration. However, 99% of the solutions I find are along the lines of "It's ok, just ignore it". Taking a professional point of view, that's not a good answer.

So I'm learning to troubleshoot this mb as far as Linux is concerned and I would like to know if anyone has good information about what kernel version would be the best or any other ideas about an installation.

At this time, it's too early for me to do my own kernel compile, but I am interested in that also, but from what I understand, loading and unloading modules might actually help me fix my problems.

Most of the errors are ACPI related. After more searches, I can't figure out, how such a modern mb, still has errors I see as far back as 10 years ago. I must be missing some key points.

Anyone can help me with this?

The distros, I have tried are Debian and Ubuntu (Lubuntu, Xubuntu and etc.). However, I am now as I post this installing Slackware 14.2. So I will post any errors in this thread, for further input.

Which version of Ubuntu did you try to install? (18.04 -> kernel 4.15)

ACPI are usually harmless. Most mobos do not adhere to the ACPI spec. So, practically every board produces ACPI errors. If you're not willing to accept that certain messages are harmless, then there's nothing you can do about it. And it certainly isn't a sign of professionalism that you intend to try to get rid of every printk messages at bootup. That is not possible. Those messages are there for people to read them.

If you want to see every messages that scrolls by during bootup, try: dmesg | less.
