Asterisk Hardware Questions
I was planning on setting up an Asterisk server for fun but I have a few questions before I start.
1. To connect the phone to the computer, do I need any special hardware or will any old modem do? 2. I have AT&T Callvantage VoIP and I got this little black box that converts standard phone cords to ethernet and then connects to the internet. Is there a way I could put the Asterisk box in between the Internet and this box so I don't need a modem in my computer to talk into the phone? Ex: Router ------ Asterisk ------ Phone to Ethernet box ------ Phone 3. Is there any software that will let me dial out and receive calls using a (different) computer such as my laptop? Any help is appreciated! |
