I have a Lenovo USB Ethernet adapter (Asix 88772b), which was working under Debian Wheezy (kernel 3.2 I belive), but now after upgrade to Debian Jessie (kernel 3.16) it stopped working. The eth device is created but mii-tool says "No link" and the LED lights are not flashing. I tried to recompile the kernel from Asix web page but no luck as well.
I'm posting this just in case anybody has similar issue and maybe found a solution.
Although I could be wrong, I don't think the Debian developers would have dropped support for this device. You might want to ask around at their forum to find out.
In what way(s) did the recompile fail?
Regards...

Thanks for your interest.
I'm not saying it's a Debian issue. Rather it's a kernel issue that I hit when upgrading to Jessie.
Although the device should be supported according to the sources, I'm not able to get it working, I get no link.
The recompile of kernel driver from Asix web site did not fail, it goes fine, but I can't get the device working with that driver as well.
