Asante 3400LC Cable router Printer Port - Suse 9.1 Pro

My printer is attached to the parallel port of my CABLE ROUTER
(has built in print server). Yast printer configuartion did not detect this printer.
Thru yast I configured this printer as LPD type with IP address 192.168.123.254
(printer port address of the cable router) and print q as lp.

Then i did the print test page i got the error

A print error occurred. Error message received from system:

cupsdoprint -P 'LaserJet' -J 'NVSuseUserGuideStudy' -H
'localhost:631' -U 'root' -o ' copies=1
multiple-document-handling=separate-documents-collated-copies
orientation-requested=3' '/tmp/kde-root/kdeprint_JI0i4NBg' :
execution failed with message:

client-error-request-value-too-long

lpd and lp is working for win2000pro.
