ARM system type


was recompiling the kernel for a box.

it says ARM system type = IXP425 based

keep on seeing this term come up. ARM system type. Can someone give a brief detail what it is?

ARM is a CPU architecture from Intel. ARM and StrongARM CPU's are common in embedded and handhelds - many palmtop computers or PDA's use ARM CPU's.
