Are LCD monitors better for the eyes?
I am spending considerable time staring at a CRT monitor (mostly text) and am getting sore eyes. I wonder if an LCD monitor would improve the situation a lot and is suitable for text.
If yes, I also need to know if there is anything important to consider about installation etc and how to change the monitor of a computer that's set up (perhaps a good link to follow).
My attention was drawn to this when I saw advertising by Samsung for their latest 17' LCD monitor for about $AU350. It seems a 15' CRT correspond to a 17' LCD as far as viewing is concerned and on that basis, this monitor is probably a 15' giving a viewing of 17' since the add mentions in small print "17' viewing".
Any comment most welcome.
Thank you for your help

Well, I don't have a so-called specific answer to the question. However, considering a LCD for purposes would completely depend on what factors are related directly to the purpose.
Here's a few list of links, that you'll have to probably spend a little time, possibly tiring you eyes, to find out more about LCD and CRT monitors.

Best ways to make it better for your eyes with both CRT and LCD monitors is to get an anti-glare screen protector. It removes the glare from the monitor (both LCD and CRT), this will make it healthier for your eyes. About which is better, probably LCD has a better resolution, possibly safer for your eyes, and another benefit is that it takes up less space.
You can get those anti-glare screen protectors at your local pc shop, or online.

Thank you for your answers, it seems the anti-glare thing is probably the best solution for me.
