Hello,

I have gone back and forth installing and uninstalling linux. My biggest problem has been that my Philips Rythmic Edge PSC702 sound card is not supported, hence I have to go back to Windows. Windows is ticking me off (as usual). I have been looking for an inexpensive sound card to put in its place (I have no on-board audio). I am looking at Aopen sound cards models AW840 and AW850. Can anyone tell me if these are supported in Linux (looking at using Mandrake 9)?

Also, does anyone happen to know if Linux supports Digital Research brand CD Writers?

Have you checked MDK 9.0 hardware compatability list? I would stick to Sound Blaster compatable for best support.

The AW740's are supported...put it doesn't mention 800's....

and the Aopen's are cheaper then the SB's
