Anyone know of support for VIA VT8367 Northbridge and KT333 chipset?

Is there any distribution out there that has support for the VIA VT8367 Northbridge and specifically as implemented on the VIA KT333 chipset???

I use Mandrake 8.2 and apparently the KT333 chipset is not supported by the kernel. It is not significantly different from the KT266 or KT133, both of which are supported, so I am left wondering when those of us that use the KT333 (I bought it assuming it was the KT133, as the sales rep told me), will be able to utilize DMA???

Can anyone stear me in the right direction???

I run linux on the kt400, without any problems, so I'd say your kt333 should have none either. What exactly is the problem and why do you think the mobo is to blame?

The Northbridge is un-identified by Mandrake's set-up utility. I think I am not getting DMA at 100%. For instance, my framerates using AGPgart and the nVidia drivers for the GeForce2 AGP are only around 350 FPS for GLXgears.

To seem if your machine is usuing dma, I'de check the harddrives:

hdparm -Tti /dev/hda (for instance, as root)

From onboard controllers you shouyld be getting ATA66 over the bridge, or udma4 should have a cute little '*' next to it from the -i part of hdparm. If not, either you just need to tweak your drives... or indeed the bridge has issues.

350fps does seem to suck somewhat. I don't do Nvidia, what's the expected with a GeForce2? Is that a 32 or 64 Mb card? Mental comparisons to my Matrox's 700fps might be off.

I just went poking through changelogs on 2.4.20 and 2.4.19, but they never mention these boards by anything easily searchable...

Cheers,
