Got a laptop having issues with m.2 intel AX200 so looking into getting intel 8265 m.2 card. already have a pair of 7265's though they do not support mu-mimo.

I know some intel wifi adapter's are intel cpu only.

no, a cpu cannot be compatible with any kind of wifi adapter. as far as I know. (like an engine of a car cannot be compatible with any kind of book)

Only cnvio adapters will only work with Intel CPU's. Those models are 9461, 9462, 9560, AX201, and AX211. The model you're inquiring about predates CNVIO technology, and will work with any CPU/motherboard that has a slot that fits it and doesn't have whitelisting/blacklisting to prevent it's usage.

I got a intel AX200 but it only works with 5.4.x to 5.6.x kernel from 5.7 to current it doesnt work right. luckily programmers didnt change 5.4.x code in longterm.

Does the intel AX210 work with AMD cpu?

I don't know what distro you're running, but my AX200's work with 5.18 kernel (Debian backports kernel, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed and Void). They worked with the Debian 5.10 driver, as well before upgrading.

Since the AX210 isn't CNVIO, it will work with any processor that again, doesn't have whitelisting/blacklisting in the BIOS to prevent it. It does requires 5.10 kernel or newer for most distro's, except for Debian, which is 5.11 kernel or newer (they messed up the driver on their 5.10 kernel and I'm not aware of them having ever fixed it, although it's quite possible they did).

I have 3 AMD systems with AX210's, ThinkPad T14 Gen2 AMD (running Debian), ThinkPad T14 Gen1 AMD (running Debian), and a ThinkPad L14 Gen1 AMD (running EndeavourOS). All work without a single issue.

I have 2 systems with intel AX200. my desktop and my laptop. the desktop has ax200 built into motherboard I believe though my laptop has it as non original parts including new FullHD display,32gb of ram and SSD replacing HD. the desktop and laptop have Debian 11.3 with 5.10.0.x kernel and slackware 15 5.15.x kernel. tried mainline from some 5.17.x to 5.18.10 no dice.

Using Slackware 15 and Debian 11.3 non free firmware.

I have a pair of intel 7265 m.2 wifi/bluetooth combo devices they work with all kernels tested in laptop. longterm stable and default distro kernel even mainline work with my desktop. laptop for some reason with m.2 intel AX200 doesnt like the source code after 5.4.x longterm and up to 5.6.19 the code is good my laptop will run. From Kernel 5.7.x to mainline kernel my laptop's m.2 intel AX200 will not work.

On kernel 5.10 default for Debian 11.3 I get firmware crash. other kernels and times I get errors and something about mac address retrying and error -110.

The problem seems to be getting sorted hopefully. I am looking for commands for git clone.

I tried other two m.2 intel ax200 adapters. Get this my laptop's m.2 and built in on my desktop are same hardware version 1a and subsystem. 0x0084. A Netel card I had was 0x0080 and Deals4go was 0x4080. Be interesting to know more about hardware subsystem version which is newer/older any signifigant difference though from my experience I had no intel ax200 device working from kernel 5.10.0 to 5.18.10. Looks like were on 5.19 now

Odd, I have 3 machines with AX200's (2 OEM although not in the machine it shipped in, 1 Fenvi) and they've literally worked with every kernel I've happened to have on those machines (1 of the machines I've only had 2 months though). All 3 are the hardware rev 1a. Various distro's on these, as I like to cycle my distro's through machines, but Debian has been on most, EndeavourOS has been on most, OpenSUSE TumbleWeed has been on a couple, and KDE Neon (AKA Ubuntu) has been on at least 1 of them. Void is currently on 1 of them.

Yeah I guess odd problem with Acer laptop or something. The intel AX200 I kept was Fenvi my first one, too late to return it.

Not sure how to get subsystem info for the intel AX200 except in KDE>info center>devices>pci>intel corporation adapter wifi 6 ax200.

I was wondering how in the world you found that. I know lsusb gives it for USB devices, but I hadn't ever remember seeing it on lspci or inxi.
