Any real success with 1000 Mbit LAN? Post speeds!

I have been having trouble with my gigabit lan and noticed that many others have got slow transfer speeds or even locking up from the Realtek 8169 based cards.

I was wondering if anyone with success could post their speeds and what NIC they used so that my next purchase will give me less frustration!

I've used the intel pro 1000 card with good results, I don't have hard numbers, but there's a noticeable performance increase over the intel 100mb card I was using before.

Thanks for the info, think I may get one of the intel cards then to replace this realtek crap. Does anyone have any frigures from iperf or samba transfers?
