Any DVD burners compatible?

Im in the market for a dvd burner, right now im looking at a tdk indi multi-format and the sony dru510a. Is anyone aware if either of these will work with mandrake or if they will not do you have any suggestions? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

DVD burners work the same way, more or less, that cdrws do under Linux, scsi emulation and the dvd-rw and dvd+rw tools, which I'm not sure come with Mandy, but I would be surprised if they didn't, as long as the drive is standards compliant...

Here's some good pointers:

I got a DVD burner myself. Like finegan said, DVD-burners work exactly the same way as CD-burners. The only pain-in-the-ass is that there are not yet any DVD-writing programs out there enabling you to write a Video-DVD. Besides that you need UDF Write Support in your kernel to do so. The site mentioned by finegan is giving some directions on this as well.

I'm able to backup data without a problem to a ISO9660 filesystem, but still have to look into UDF write support so I can write Video-DVDs in the end. :) Forgot to say I'm not doing anything illegal ofcourse ...

i just got the pioneer dvr-6 something last week.
i had already compiled dvdrecord and the mkisofs
that's patched for large files. i've only gotten one coaster
so far and thats when i tried to pipe mkisofs thru
dvdrecord without the intermediate iso image. i haven't
tried again. i should experiment with the -dummy option,
i guess.

anyway to make the image
/usr/local/bin/mkisofs -r -J -o /image.iso /stuff /morestuff /morefiles

then to burn
dvdrecord -vv -dao dev=0,0,0 /image.iso
