Another USB-Flash-Drive Post- I read all the others so what now
I am getting the usual errors everyone else seems to get

yeah I had tried to mount on sda1 sda2 etc but with no luck. I was reading the output from /bin/dmesg and noticed messages

I dont know if it the flash drive but I loaded it in windows and reformatted it as FAT32 (before it was just FAT) after that it was picked up in linux (RedHat 8) and mount -t vfat /dev/sda4 /mnt/flash/ will mount it. So I can read and write to it :p ;) :) :p now, but the crap thing is I can only mount and umount it as root, and cant write to it as a normal user. I added the line '/dev/sda4 /mnt/flash vfat noauto,user 0 0' to /etc/fstab (also tried /dev/sda4 /mnt/flash vfat noauto,owner,kudzu 0 0) but this wont allow a normal user to mount it or write to it.... Do you know how to make this possible |
No different then mounting any other FAT32 partition. One of the most asked question on the site and the answer can be found with a simple search.

oh i found it can be mounted as I first did (without umask=000) and writen/read by any users with the disk management took in RedHat (systemtools->disk management)
