Annoying clicks on audio under X (Gnome and KDE)

Hi all,

After installing MDK10 and playing a few sound files with the events configuration I noticed a lot of clicking when the sounds are played.

Itīs not a quality issue as the clicks seem to be when the device is opened and closed. For example if I play a sound I get a click then the sound then another click when itīs finished, however if I press the play button several times quickly I hear a click then the sound plays several times without problem then the click may occur at the end of the sequence or possibly not at all.

It seems that what ever controls the sound device is slamming the chanel open and closed. Anyone else seen (heard) this and have a solution?

OS: MDK10 Community
Kernal: 2.6.3-4mdk
Gnome: 2.4.0-3mdk
PCI info:
00:07.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C686 AC97 Audio Controller (rev 50)
dmesg stuff:
Via 686a/8233/8235 audio driver 1.9.1-ac4-2.5
ac97_codec: AC97 Audio codec, id: ALG16 (ALC200/200P)

I can think of anything else relevent. BTW Iīve only been using Linix for a few minutes lol so go easy
