An Error Occured

I have just tried to install mandriva 10.2 and it is not recognizing my sata hard drive i dont think. it says it found a sata device "Intel corp, **some number**" but when i click ok it reads as follows:

An error occurred
An error occurred - no valid devices were found on which to create new filesystems. Please check your hardware for the cause of this problem.

how do i fix this problem
