amd64, nForce3 and DMA

Hello folks,
my problem is: i have an Athlon64 on a nForce3 MoBo, which has got a Maxtor HD on. If i try to put the DMA on, it hangs a little saying:

hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
ide0: reset: success

and then it keeps working. BUT: when i try to burn any cd or dvd, i have EVERYTIME buffer-underruns. In fact, when i disable DMA on the disc, everything works good but, of course, it's slow.
Does anyone have the same problem? Does anyone know if this is a known issue and/or there's a solution?

Thanks in advance

I have a AMD 64, nForce3 board and SATA HDD (Samsung) connected to the board: no problems.
CRC Error may be caused by a defective HDD or cable.

Think SATA doesnt work in the same way as IDE....
I already changed the cables and the disc (only originals and identical, at the store where i bought the computer), but it still has those problems.
Thanks the same for the suggestions
