I'm building a new system based on a dual Opteron with a 2015S RAID card (same as 2010, diff interface). Are there any distro's or does anyone know of a way to run this combo?

All these 64bit distros and a very common RAID card, this can't be very complicated!

I'm not sure your'e providing enough information to frame the question. Is your question related to installing Linux on a 64 bit machine, installing Linux in a system with multiple CPU's, or installing RAID?

In any event, I would say that probably the best thing to do is just try it. You will need to acquire the 64 bit version of the distro, and make sure that you recompile the kernel with SMP support enabled. I'm not personally familiar with setting up RAID, but there are plenty of existing threads that cover that topic. Good luck with it -- J.W.

Make sure the hardware is proberly installed, (especially the memory) !!

Update:

1) The MB Bios to the latest (here 3.0b0a)
2) The ASR-2015S Firmware to the latest (here 1.62)
3) The ASR-2015S Bios
4) The ASR-2015S NVRAM
5) The SMOR version (here 79.112)

If you have any versions earlier than this, than you are on your own

I hope that you find this info usefull. Installating and updating the FW, Bios , Smor, NVram is annoying but required for a successfull first time installation.
