You need to install the AMD drivers from the repository to get that card working, the free drivers provided by Mint are not new enough to support that card.

Open a terminal or log into a text console, launch the command
Code:
sudo jockey-text -e xorg:fglrx
After the installation finished reboot the system.

This is rather weird. I just had a look at AMD's website to find a driver for this device, but I could not find one, not even for Windows. I know that the latest free drivers should support that card, but it is not incorporated into current versions of Ubuntu/Mint, so all advice I can give you now is to wait until the card gets a downloadable driver from AMD.

a useful approach is to run lspci , note the number of your video card, e.g.
Quote:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Ivy Bridge Graphics Controller (rev 09)
Then run lspci -n, and note the pci id of 00:02.0, in my case
Quote:
00:02.0 0300: 8086:0166 (rev 09)
Then search for the pci id with your number (two four digit hex numbers separated by a colon) and see if that brings up anything. Also bleat on phoronix.com forums where ati developers lurk.

Unless there is an option to enable/disable discrete graphics in the BIOS you do not have a Radeon HD8750 GPU in that computer.

I just checked the website of Samsung for the Series 3 NP370R5E and indeed it does not specify an HD8750 to be inbuilt in that laptop, all it has is an Intel HD4000 video device which should work on any recent Linux distribution out of the box.
