AMD 64 3000+ vs. Dual Barton Mobile 2500+?
 

I'm building a system for audio/video work in Linux. My two options for roughly the same price are identical systems with the difference of the processors.

AMD 64 3000+ w. nforce3 chipset
Dual AMD XP M 2500+ (probably with GA-7DPXDW-P mobo)

Does anyone here have any first-hand experience comparing them? Your help would be appreciated.

I would get AMD Athlon 64 because it is a lot faster in multimedia applications. Though I would go for the 3400+ with VIA K8T800 Pro chipset. If you are going to capture from multiple video capture cards, the dual processor will work better.
