alsa wont work after upgrade
 

Here it is. I installed slackware 9.1 configured everything the way I wanted and alsa sound was great. After running upgradepkg with the updated available files, including ALSA, from the slackware ftp I got screwed. No more alsa?? I ran alsamixer and it told me no such device. I uninstalled the updated alsa packages (0.9.8) and reinstalled the original alsa packages (0.9.6). I rebooted and got a huge list of errors, I checked dmesg and the list was long. After about 3 hours on google and a bit of tinkering I gave up. So I uninstalled salsa and whatever sound is running in linux now is low quality. What should I do at this point??? If anyone could help me I would appreciate it bigtime. ;-)ALSA

hmm yes i also have this problem, sound works fine with alsa 0.9.6 but if i upgrade alsa sound doesnt work n i cant get it too work so twice i just reinstalled older version back i hope someone responds
