Unhappy ALSA Tutorial

Is there anybody out there that has a link to a newer ALSA tutorial?? I'm trying to update mine from Version 1.0.6 to version 1.0.8 ... But I can't find anything out there worth a damn. Most places are saying RPM....ALSA has all their stuff in tar files now....

Can anybody give me a good link or give me a hand?

what do you mean "in tar files now?" As a project, ALSA have always distributed their code as tar source archives, they always will. it's up to fedora or other thrid parties to create RPM's for a particular rpm base distro. if you're simply trying to do a driver upgrade, you don't need a tutorial or anything, just find a 1.0.8 rpm from rpm.pbone.net or somewhere sillimar and update the packages. the configurations are extremely unlikely to be affected at all.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
