Alsa sound prloblem.

I posted this on FedoraFrom(since I use Fedora) but so far have had no response, so I thought I would try here as well. Here it goes:

I've noticed that many programs that use ALSA are giving me this error in the terminal:
"ALSA lib pcm.c:7339:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred"

I have no audio destorstoin and the sound works. Should I be consird about this?

I am guessing you mean concerned?
but not sure what you mean by audio destorstoin?

did you use google translate?

2) glad you have sound

Is there anything you can't do with your sound?

3) does Fedora use alsa or pulseaudio by default? do you know? I ask as pulseaudio (PA) is not tracked at distrowatch.com

If it works, don't worry. Running from the CLI can often leave some very odd warnings, but so long as they aren't labeled CRITICAL there's no need to panic.

I have very poor spelling sometimes, I meant "di store tion" and yes I meant "concerned". Fedora uses Palse by default by I have un-istalled it, so I use ALSA now. The warnings are on the terminal and I think Dave is correct but I was hoping someone who new something more about Alsa could tell me for sure.

I think you mean your sound works and you have no distortion.

I only say it out loud as at first glance, di store tion did not mean much to me
but sometimes my spelling is bad as well.

If interested report a media player's terminal output
for example here is my vlc output on a debian system---normally run as an icon etc
Code:

vlc
VLC media player 2.1.0 Rincewind (revision 2.1.0-0-gedd8835)
[0x97798f8] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface

Yes, that is what I mean. I think I pronounce that word wrong which is probably why I can't spell it correctly.

Before I had this issue in a lot of programs but now it seems to limit itself to just a few. Here is the output from Dosemu:
Code:

ALSA lib rawmidi_hw.c:233:(snd_rawmidi_hw_open) open /dev/snd/midiC0D0 failed: No such file or directory
ALSA lib pcm.c:7339:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred
ALSA lib pcm.c:7339:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred

I've also had the issue in Portal Beta Linux and the other day I had it in neverball which is now behaving fine. VLC is not giving any unusual output.
