Alsa


install alsa-driver

when i command in: modprobe snd-emu10k1;modprobe snd-pcm-oss;modprobe snd-mixer-oss;modprobe snd-seq-oss

gives error:

FATAL: Error inserting snd_seq_oss (/lib/modules/2.6.11-1-686/kernel/sound/acore/seq/oss/snd-seq-oss.ko): Device or resource busy

what is this mean? should i stop the device? how??

Could you post the output of lsmod before running the above command?

just type modprobe snd-emu10k1 and nothing else and see if that starts the card. the oss emulation is still really iffy. alsa definately has a ways to go with it.
