allegro-1 on-board soundcard


I have an Es1988 allegro-1 onboard soundcard.

when I run sndconfig, it does deteckt it, but says the kernel doesnt support it...
I've downloaded the drivers from,
and I've run all the script files it tells me to run, but I still cant install this stupid soundcard!

it says that the devices have been succesfully copied to /dev but I can't find them in there.

can anyone pleaaaaaase help me!
