all kinds of trouble with redhat


1. i need very good explanation how to recompile kernel to use ntfs
2. i STILL can't print with my printers (1 on router, 1 lexmark value-writer 300 -4037 SE- on parallel port)
3. where can i find virus scanner and firewall?
and last but not least:

HOW TO install the game Enemy Territory under linux? :|
i get this error when i do:

[thomas@localhost thomas]$ cd games/et/
[thomas@localhost et]$ runscript et-linux-2.56-2.x86.run
script "et-linux-2.56-2.x86.run" line 3: unknown command "CRCsum=569161474"
[thomas@localhost et]$


or is that completely the wrong way :P

To install ET, recommend you do "chmod +x [file]" and then "./[file]" rather than whatever this "runscript" thing is.

Recommend you post specific queries as separate threads, with lots of details: what have you tried? What error messages have you seen? If you need help understanding something, exactly which part is it that doesn't make sense?

i have redhat 9

but about that printer, i have an old thread here, but i didn't get good help there

i'll just do what u've said new threads ^^

and thx for the ET part

*EDIT*
hardware doesn't work, i have to run "ET +set r_allowsoftwaregl 1"

and, franctly, that looks like crap

ATI radeon 9600 isn't in the list of drivers aswell :'(
