AIC79XX driver
Hi,
I am reasonably new to linux and seem to have bitten off a little more than I can chew with my first project. Basically I have had Redhat 8 with Samba etc configured on a Compaq server. A Adaptec 39320D-R card installed and attached to a 2.6TB raid with two splits. For 6 months I have been able to use one of the splits without problem in a Windows 2000 Network. However I have had great problems trying to get the system to recogonise both of the LUNS assigned to each split on the raid. Basically, Whatever I did to one raid was mirrored to the second after a period of time. I am now fairly sure that the problem was down to the AIC79XX driver and the dual channel adapter(non raid enabled on adapter). Can anyone please enlighten me as to whether the latest version under 2.4.21 fully supports all features of the card. I have been inserting the module each time rather then recompiling into the kernel, Would this have caused functionality problems for me.. Any advice appreciated. |
Hi..
You have to add max_scsi_luns=128 in modules.conf and make the initrd image again. It can detect all the LUNs. Also elobrate the Setup. Regards Siddiqu.T |
