Agpgart needed to compile/use nvidia video drivers?
I compile my own kernel but this time (ver. 2.6.16) I left out agpgart thinking I could use nvidia's agp drivers. The nvidia video drivers (ver. 8178) won't compile, giving me no reason as to why not.
My question: do I need agpgart?

Nothing useful. I think I'm gonna try to recompile with agpgart and see if it makes any difference.

Just curious, but where did you get the driver source from? You should probably install it from your distribution's package repository.

I got it from nvidia.com The distribution package will only work with the stock kernel. Also, not every distro offers such a package. But I compile my own kernel so I have to compile the nvidia drivers for it.
I did however just find out what my problem was. It seems the nvidia driver has some known problems. No doubt a new version will be released soon. But in the mean time: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=62021
