AGP status disabled

I have an agp and PCI-E motherboard combo but am only useing the agp slot with an nvidia 6800 on an AMD 64bit 3200+ athalon processor with the 2.6.15.3 kernel and things 'seem' to be going fine

Basically i get have direct rendering on so I know 3d acceleration is working, but glx gears only gets 2000 fps and supertux in opengl only gets 80fps and will sometimes dip to 50 or 60 for 2 or 3 seconds. I also play quake 3 adn it gets about 90fps and will dip to about 20 to 30 at times.

When i do
Quote:

cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status
that command returns

Status: Disabled

AGP initialization failed, please check the ouput
of the 'dmesg' command and/or your system log file
for additional information on this problem.
I have looked through dmesg and don't notice anything odd except

Here is the dmesg output in case that can help.

I will admit though most of that output I don't understand. I am useing currenlty the 32bit version of crux until the next release of the 64bit version. I am hopeing that several bugs are worked out and maybe I will have learned enough by then to run 64bit effectivly.

I hope that is enough info. If you notie anything odd in the dmesg that you can point out I would be ever so greatful.

Thank you

Take a look at your xorg.conf for the NvAGP option and change it accordingly. According to nvidia these are the possible valuse:
Quote:

Option "NvAgp" "0" ... disables AGP support
Option "NvAgp" "1" ... use NVAGP, if possible
Option "NvAgp" "2" ... use AGPGART, if possible
Option "NvAGP" "3" ... try AGPGART; if that fails, try NVAGP

The default is 3
