After battery died, radio button for wireless doesn't work!

I have an laptop with build in Broadcom BCM4318 wireless card. I'm using ndiswrapper and it worked fine before, until I left my laptop and the battery run out, so it died. After I boot up, ndiswrapper module is loaded and hardware is listed, but when I try to turn on radio with hardware button, as usual, it doesn't turn on. If it's on, the button blinks red. This has happened before, after battery died, but other times after a day or something it started to work, but it has been 4 days, and still no luck.. I reinstalled ndiswrapper, but still doesn't turn on.. Could this be a hardware problem?! Any suggestions? Thank you!

As an experiment while the system is in the startup mode and the boot menu is displayed press any key (assuming grub is the bootloader) and then press the wireless button. Or try this from the BIOS screen (by using F2 key or whatever).

FYI: reinstalling ndiswrapper will not have any effect on the button this is a BIOS/hardware issue not a software issue.

I would also suggest you get a working AC/battery monitor working in Linux, maybe with some type audio and/or video warnings, maybe with automatic shutdown when the remaining battery power reaches 5-10% ????

I have a smart battery, so it's pain to get it working, because of all the paching stuff and missing keystrokes. I used Ubuntu liveCD and I didn't have any lost keystrokes, so I might use Ubuntu for a while.

I tried to press radio button many times in bios and grub, but still it doesn't work. any ideas?! thank you!
