Advice on how to enable 2nd CPU RH9

Hi all,

Have just been reading through some previous posts on enabling a system on fitting a second CPU and was after some advice. My BIOS recognises the second CPU, however RH doesnt (/proc/cpuinfo). As previously suggested, do I just download a SMP kernel and do the RPM thing, or should I re-compile considering I am not of that level yet (as much as I would love to give it a go, just dont have time as yet)??? I am really thinking the RPM way as I have just finished personalising RH after many weeks and really dont want to have to redo at this stage.

TIA

Download the newest SMP kernel RPM package and install it (rpm -ivh blahblah.i686.rpm). Update your Lilo/Grub configuration if needed and reboot. Choose the new SMP kernel at boot and that should be it.

Advice on how to enable 2nd CPU RH9

Cheers, downloaded an SMP kernel and /proc/cpuinfo reports CPU0 and CPU1.

Does anyone know of an app similiar to System monitor but one that will show current CPU info for both CPU's?? I just would like to monitor load and threads/processes assigned to each CPU.

TIA.
