Question Advice needed on wlan

Hey Guys,

I am about to buy a couple of 2nd hand laptops and wish to add them to my home network (all CAT5e 10/100) using a wlan access point, could anybody recommend a access point and pcmcia cards that have the best linux compatibillity?

(lowest price would be good - more money for my laptop then ,

cheers,

I use the

Lucent Technologies
Orinoco 11 Mbit/s Silver

card. I have never had any problems at all with it. Works like a charm.
And it was super easy to install, atleast in mandrake 9.0.

Don't know about the Gateway since I don't handle them. Sorry

for Linux compatible wireless cards, see this URL:

http://www.linux-wlan.org/docs/wlan_adapters.html4.html

If you already have a linux box on your wired net, why not get a PCI wireless card in there and make it the access point? see this URL:

http://hostap.epitest.fi/

A little bit of work, but what fun!
