ADSL USB modems
Hi
I'm thinking about signing up to a nice looking adsl plan here in Australia, and I'm wondering if Mandrake 10.1 would be compatible with any usb adsl modems. The one TPG offers for free is a D-link DSL-200. http://www.dlink.com.au/products/broadband/dsl200/.
They also offer a modem/router for an extra $60 AU, http://www.netcomm.com.au/ADSL/adsl.php#NB13004. The irony there being that I'll be spending extra just to make linux happy. TPG claim it's linux friendly, so I'm wondering what you people think? Also, the d-link modem is apparently usb only. Thanks for your help, people.

eciadsl
Thanks for your help thus far guys, but I was wondering, has anyone had any success using FlashTux Eciadsl with Mandrake 10.1? Can anyone say for sure that they've got their d-link modem working that way? If not, I guess I'm going to have to go with the modem/router, but I don't really want to, considering the extra cost. Can't someone just make these free modem drivers part of their linux distro?

Actually, I posted here because I e-mailed TPG, the isp in question, and they said that the d-link modem wasn't supported. Also, I just looked on the HCL for the Netcomm Modem/Router, and it isn't there either, another netcomm modem is. So I might be screwed no matter what modem I choose.
Also, I did a search in the forums, and it turns out that a SUSE user had luck with his d-link modem, another model though, by configuring his network with dhcp. Any chance that approach would work for me in Mandrake?
