Adjusting Brightness and Gamma Via vid card

I've been reading extensively, and searching forums and their relevant threads.
I'm using Mandrake 2005LE.
Amd.
i586

Vid Card: 3dFX Voodoo3
drivers: (Voodoo3 generic from mandrake driver lib)
contraindictions Video gamma and brightness too dark. No relevant display settings to adjust color settings, or create color profiles. Can barely read Konsole. Can barely read this.

previous trouble shooting: Turned up monitor brightness of course. Have updated xorg-x11. I have searched for newer'ish** voodoo drivers...

/me laughs at self.

I just wanna adjust my gamma and brightness so I can try AA or AlephaOne..

/me = noobish, but, an IQ over 120.. so..

Current Trouble Shooting:
*Konsole>Xgamma>rgb up .75pts
*Changed Konsole Schema to readability (temp fix)
*Cleaned about 3mm's of Nicotine and MMJ tar off of screen.

**Any utility's in a tar.gz out there that could let me do this graphically?
Changing the gamma/brightness?

Try xgamma from the command line.
man xgamma
