which additional SATA controller is better supported by linux
JMicron JMB363 found on this borad

or

Marvell 88SE614x found on

is there a "official" list which controllers are supported by the kernel?

You could look at LQs HCL (hardware compatibility list) to see if anyone has posted anything about them.
