Adding More Ram...More Swap Needed?

I currently have 512mb of ram and I'm going to purchase another stick. I have 1gb of swap space but I'm wondering if its necessary to resize my swap partition after I add more ram since its suggested that you have 2 to 3 times more swap space then your physical ram.

No. You will not need to increase your swap sapce. In fact, with that much ram, I would guess that the space you have currently is under utilised.

that guideline was invented when it was either a ram upgrade or your family got to eat that month....

I'm in the same boat, but with less ... I have 256MB swap, and I'm increasing my RAM from 128MB to 256. Will I need to repartition (please say no!)??
