Adding a second processor...

I will be installing about 200 second processors on some HP servers tomorrow. All I know is that they have linux on them (not sure what kernal or anything). However, I need to know if I will need to recompile the kernal in order for it to recognize the new processor or if it will automatically recognize.

Thanks!

You will have to recompile the kernel with smp support (and some other relevant options). There should be some HOWTO's somewhere with the specifics.

(they should work fine even without recompiling, but it will only use one processor)
