Add a USB FingerPrint reader to Linux Mint 20.2
I want to add a USB finger print reader to my Lenovo Ideapad-710S-13ISK with Mint 20.2 installed. I bought the Benss reader that was listed as working with Linux. However, I'm having difficulty finding info on setting it up, software, drivers, etc. I found one recent link for Ubuntu fingerprint reader setup. It shows a Fingerprint reader "enable" option in the user profile. My Mint user profile (Administrator) has no such options. Any suggestions?

This is the only thing related to Linux I could find at their sites.

The info I found said there were certain "ID" numbers that were compatible/recognized by Linux distros. The "lsusb" command displayed the ID and it was one of those acceptable on list according to several web searches. My problem is software to test/setup.
I came across Fingerprint GUI, but info says it is no longer being developed and not compatible with Ubuntu 20.XX. I believe my Mint Cinnamon 20.2 is based on that?
I also found FPrint but the instructions are a little beyond me. I thought I can't be the only person wanting to do this on Mint, and perhaps someone might have instructions a beginner like myself could follow?

Yep. In this thread, fprintd from Debian Testing in May 2020 was too old for Lenovo Thinkpad P53. So it wouldn't be supported by Ubuntu 20.04 as well. But it seems you have an older notebook. Perhaps, it will work.
Update. I checked, and Ubuntu 20.04 currently includes a newer fprintd than what was mentioned in the linked thread. So, the chances it will work on your system are pretty high.

Thanks for the response and the info. I had found instructions for the Fingerprint reader in Ubuntu. It is quite simple, just enabling the option in the user profile. However, that option is not in my Mint version profile. Perhaps there is a way to install it?
All my machines are accessed through FP readers, or Windows Hello Face authentication. For someone with my poor typing skills, getting this working in Linux is important to me.
