Add a spare SCSI hard drive

Hello,

Hardware: PowerEdge 1650
OS:RHEL4
Current config:
0: 18GB scsi hdd
1: 18GB scsi hdd
2: 300GB new scsi hdd
where 0 and 1 are in a mirror set.

I am trying to add 1 additional SCSI hard drive to this server. However it's not showing under fdisk as available space. Under CTRL-A raid controller screen does see the drive. I am wondering if I need to create a container for this single drive as well before linux will recognize it.

thank you for your help.

Most Dells have both a PERC (RAID Controller card) and an Adaptec (Non-RAID) card. What does lspci show on yours?

If its attached to the PERC I'd think you'd have to tell the PERC card to present it in its own container but haven't done it myself.
