adata su720 ie: asu720ss-1t-c hdparm failures .

Hello All , Nothing but difficulty with trying to "Over Provision" certain of the adata su720 ssd drives .
I there is any further information wanted/needed please just ask .

Tia , JimL

I am trying to reach out here in hopes someone else may have seen these errors and have gotten a fix out of adata or cleared the issue some other way .

I purchase several asu720ss-1t-c from Their amazon store a couple years ago & was finally returning to the project they were purchased for and found that drives with the firmware version of s190429a (so far the only ones I've tested) , all of them return odd messages like ...

Under linux os with linux-kernel-5.18.6 , Brought up in single user mode from a slackware-current-live usb , and hdparm version 9.63 produces ...

Code:
# hdparm -N /dev/sda
SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sb[]: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 04 51 40 00 21 04 00 00 80 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sb[]: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 04 51 40 01 21 04 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

/dev/sda:
max sectors = 1953525168/1(1?), HPA setting seems invalid (buggy kernel device driver?)
Please note the 1(1?) in the output above to the right of "max sectors =" . That s/b a value nearer to 2000409264 than 1 . It appears to me that the SG_IO errors would prevent 'Over Provision'ng .

Tho the hdparm -I pulls most of the data successfully , And from another drive with the same firmware tho differant s/n , But it has the same difficulty as the above , ...

Code:
# hdparm -I /dev/sdd

/dev/sdd:
