Adaptec 1210SA

Ok I'm fairley new to linux but have managed to setup a linux server box with a web server, dns server, mail server and a few other various things. I have now run into a problem that I js can't seem to find an answer to. I have an adaptec 1210sa sata raid card that I want to use it has 2 250gb hdd hooked to it and I have it setup as a raid0 the problem is that I cn't get it to see the raid in linux I am running fedora core 5. The card comes with a utility that runs in mzilla but it won't let me install the utility because it says that it is missing libXft.so.1. I seem to be stuck I really would like to get this up and running I really don't want to go back to windows just because I can't get the raid going.
