AD1980 SoundMAX is detected but doesnt play sound.

I'm on RedHat Enterprise Linux 3. I ran the soundcard detection program and it detected it but when i clicked play test sound nothing played so it disabled sound. Does anyone know aobut a driver or way to get my AD1980 to work? PS I just started using Linux 3 days ago.

Unhappy !!! SAME PROBLEM !!!

I have been looking for some days for an answer, because there are so many threads about this around and I do not want to open yet another thread about the same topic.

I think I read somewhere that we should turn off the "external mixer". wtf is this?

Can anyone post any gernal info in order to solve quite a lot of questions at once?

Thank you in advance
