Hi all,
After some tries with my Travelmate 620, I managed to install RedHat 6.2 on it.
However, the old kernel and Xfree86 means that a lot of items feature cannot be used, including the built in network card, graphical mode, USB support etc.
I managed to upgrade the kernel to the latest version 2.4.18. However, here come another problem when I upgrade the XFree86.
RedHat 6.2 come with glibc2.1 installed. However, only binary for glibc2.2 of XFree86 is available from xfree86.org. Compiling the source code is far too tedious for me to try. Upgrading glibc from rpm packages doesnt seems to be straight forward as there are a lot of dependencies problem.
Any suggestion in upgrading the glibc to 2.2? I have read that compiling the libc is not an easy process and can caused system to be unbootable.
