Accessing Serial Camera

Hello,
I have a Polaroid PDC640 digital camera that is old and connects only through the serial port. Can someone tell me how to get into it once I plug it in? I've searched all over for information on serial devices but I haven't found anything useful.
Thanks for any advice!

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I found this site. I did this with my serial attached GPS and it worked so now I'm on to the old Olympus D340. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply but I've read through that and I didn't find anything real obvious about hooking up this camera. I know about /dev/ttyS0 and all that but I'm still seeing how to download the pictures.
If you get any more info that might help me, I would greatly appreciate it!!

gPhoto?

Have you tried gPhoto for that camera? I just read about it and it supports serial connections...seems like a fit for this problem. I'm away without my camera so I can't do anything with it but if you do, post what you find.
