24giovanni, to re-phrase your question, "How do I access my Linux box from Windows? and access my LINUX partition within Windows" You need to install SAMBA or FTP for your Win98 system. You can pick either one. For your Windows 2000 you can use
Expore2fs.
SAMBA is a service that complies to MS Windows file sharing standards.
You should know what FTP does already.
williamwbishop, it doesn't matter what filesystem you are using. The only thing that matters is you are running a service that MS Windows understands such as SAMBA. SAMBA does all the translating for MS Windows SMB standards.
