I am running RH 7.3 and can't get my sound configured.

tail /var/log/messages gives this:

I tried modprobe ac97 but still no sound.

Any suggestions / help would be wonderful!

i just installed red hat linux 7.3, and got the same problem. the error message is similar to yours too:

however, i've never got this problem with rh 7.1. any ideas?
