ac97 codec (sound chip) not recognized by RH8 linux
Hello there,
I've just installed red hat 8 linux on my new pc,
which has an AC97 codec sound chip soldered on
the Gigabyte GA-K8N motherboard (with Nvidia's
nForce 3 150 chipset).
After installation, linux KDE (and GNOME) complained
about missing "/dev/dsp". I'm a newbie on this
linux subject (1st time installing linux), and I wonder
if you can give me some advice on how to solve this
problem?
(i.e. linux commands to use, what to look for, etc.)
Thanks in advance. I look forward to hear from you.
