Ac'97 sound card and Red Hat 8.0

I got emachine (http://www.emachines.com/products/pr...Machines_T2482)
Installed Linux on that machine with no problem. OS shows that sound card is detected but no sound. I tried to run the redhat-config-soundcard but no success.

[root@phil2 bin]# ./redhat-config-soundcard
sox: Can't open output file '/dev/dsp': No such device
sox: Can't open output file '/dev/dsp': No such device
sox: Can't open output file '/dev/dsp': No such device

Any ideas how can I make AC'97 Audio card work with Red Hat 8.0 ?

Thanks

Not sure but you may be able to create it with
/dev/MAKEDEV sound
