I have Redhat 7.2

I also have the below system....

Abit KG7-RAID (bios: 2.0.1024)
2x 40Gb 7200 Western Digital HDD
DVD Drive
CD/RW
The list goes on...

My issue is simple. The resolution may not be

When I go to install Redhat 7.2 I get issues installing it to the RAID. The disks are recognised by the system. I ahve even used the highpoint linux drivers. The problem is I am not able to patch the bios on the raid controller as it is the mainboard bios.

If ANYONE has ANY experence around this topic please mail me back.

Yeah I had the same issue on a suse 7.2 install. I ditched my raid array and all is great. There are some docs and infos for getting the hpt370 wotking under linux, but they are difficult AND unstable. the fact is that the hpt raid is crap anyway. Did you know that your nice ATA100 drives only run ATA33 under the raid? The only way to get speed is from SCSI. I got a Max 10kII drive on an adaptec ultra 160 and believe me, its much faster that the ide raid. (not too cheap though) The best way is to ditch the raid. Not what you want to hear, I know, I was in the same boat but determined to get Linux up on my box. (and I've no regrets) I did this about 3 months ago. there may be new drivers/documents out there for HPT370 on Linux... try seaching google groups
