ABIT IC7-G ICH5 SATA RAID 0 & Suse 9

Okay guys really new to linux and well aware that the kernel version included with Suse Linux 9.0. This version is Linux kernel 2.4.21. I am aware that 2.4.22-bk33 is the verision I want. My problem is this. I like to install Suse Linux 9 with this version of the kernel but it will not reconize my raid on my Intel ICH5 controller. It is a raid 0 just to let you know on a ic7-g abit motherboard. So what I was wondering how do I go about putting linux on my system with this kernel. Any help would be apperciated.
Thanks
Earl

Unless you know what you are doing, you do not want 2.4.22-bk33, as that is a developer snapshot of the kernel that is not perfectly stable. Support for the Intel ICH5 controller was added in kernel 2.4.21, but only in legacy mode. There should be an option in your BIOS to switch the controller into legacy mode, so long as this is not a Dell computer that does not have a very dumbed-down set of options.

Info summerized from this thread.

Cheers!
