A Soundcard & Graphics Card Prob!!
the sound issue:
i have a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum Ex and everything works fine from a fresh installation of Fedora Core 2, no need to install any drivers etc. The problem i have is a weird sound when trying to listen to an optical input (my dvd player is plugged into it so i can use the surround sound on that). Any ideas as to why this isn't working?
Also, i have a 6.1 set up but can only get sound from all but the rear center speaker, is there a file somewhere that needs editing to change the number of speakers?
As for the graphics card problem, my tvout is playing up but only from the log on screen. upto that point, including the boot loader and in windows it all works fine but as soon as i get to the log on screen the display on the TV is really scrambled with black bands across it (as if theres like 3 of the desktop squashed down and scrambled ) the colour of the scrambledness is the same as what is displayed on the desktop so i assume its a set up problem?
it is a Radeon 9200 card and i have the latest drivers installed from ati.com and ran fglrxconfig to try and get it to work.
Once i do get it to work properly the next question is can i "move" the position of the tv so its set to be at the top left of my monitor as opposed to just on the left (stops me losing the mouse when i go to the red hat icon on the panel!)
Any help on any of this would be greatly appreciated, ive been searching for solutions in forums for hours!
