A sort of dumb question

Does anyone have an idea on how I could get a system to boot at certain time. I know how to set a cron job to shut down at the right time, but I'd like to find a way to startup.

I don;t know if it's possible but somcomputers switch on as soon as you plug them in the electricity. Maybe you could put a timer between the plug and the electricity box (what's the english name) in the wall. That way, electricity comes on at the time you want, and with that the computer gets switched on. you coould also look in your BIOS. There are usually some of setting on switching the computer on and off.
